SERBIA : VIOLENCE AGAINST ROMA PEOPLE

Centre for Minority Rights stress an increase in violence among Roma in Serbia. It mentions the death of a teenager on March 17 following his agression by skinheads, the assaulting of a group of Roma by masked people by March 21, or dégration of the monument in memory of the Roma poet Saban bajramovic on March 27. Centre for Minority Rights emphasizes that in none of these three cases the authorities have taken adequate measures.

We can remember that the EU puts pressure on Serbia to prevent its "false asylum seekers" to come apply in the EU countries, and that the vast majority of these "false asylum seekers" are Roma.
