On January 6, a young 18 years old Afghan is found shot multiple stab wounds in Athens. Suspicions turn to the Golden Dawn, whose violent actions are becoming more and more frequent.
January 11 is issued a judgment of the court of Igoumenitsa, in north-western Greece, dated on October the 2d 2012. Fifteen people of foreign nationality appearing for their escape from the Thesprotia police station, where they were held. The court held that if the escape was indeed a criminal offence, the conditions under which these persons were detained were such that their escape was necessary to protect their health. The court relies on Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights and the numerous reports involving detention conditions in Greece.
